A medical facility is one of the major aspects that determine the population and economy of an area. Ever has a mishap in the shower while getting ready for a night on the town with your best girl? Shaving injuries are rare, but they do happen. The proximity and status of a medical facility really matters. The state of North Carolina is among the top 30 areas in the United States in terms of size and the 10th in terms of population. This has been greatly influenced by having several state-of-the-art hospitals.

The Cape Fear Valley Medical center has been ranked among the top 5% hospitals that have exemplary success in terms of clinical excellence. It has recorded a very low, almost insignificant in-hospital mortality rates. This is mostly seen in patients who have survived stroke and those that have gone through coronary bypass surgery. The hospital has also registered very few cases of complications after medical procedures.

The Albemarle Hospital offers the best general surgery services. Most people who need to undergo cholecystectomy, appendectomy and bowel-obstruction will find this to be the ultimate medical facility in North Carolina for such services.

Chronic and terminal diseases like diabetes, respiratory failure and sepsis require professional personnel in order to reduce mortality rates. These patients also do sometimes find themselves at the intensive care unit, where they need quality staff for excellent services. In such a case, the Raleigh Duke University Hospital is the paramount facility.

Lifestyle diseases like osteoporosis have greatly affected the society today, hence the need to have high-tech hospitals. The Alamance Regional Medical center offers first-rate orthopedic services. There are very few mortality cases recorded after hip replacement and back surgery.

There are several heart procedures that are carried out every day. These are very sensitive and most times, the patient has more probability of dying than living. However, at Carolinas Medical center, complications are scarce, meaning that the mortality rate is low after several heart surgeries like angioplasty.

The Cape Fear Valley Medical Center offers the best vascular procedures like aorta repair. It has specialized personnel in treatment of the major arteries at the exterior of the heart.

The elderly are very likely to get stroke. This is a deadly disease if not managed properly. The Anson community Hospital has the facilities and well trained medical doctors needed to aid avoid complications and deaths. The mortality rate in 6 months is low, making this facility the best in dealing with stroke.

Lastly, you can visit http://www.flowland.net to check out a selection of goods that are not easily found in Sandhills shops. They are assorted and might be what the doctor recommended for you.

I am the guy that most would consider to be the life of the party. I am not sure why, but I have just always been the type of person to laugh and have a good time and socialize with pretty much anyone. And no matter my surroundings I usually feel really comfortable and fit right in. This is even true about the dance floor. Even though I am not really a great dancer, I have never felt out of place on the dance floor. I mean I feel like I can really hold my own out there.

Now, I get that a lot of guys do not feel this way about dancing. I suppose that makes sense. Most guys are not born with a sense of a beat or the rhythm necessary to make us great dancers, but that is no reason to sit in the corner and stay out of all the fun is it?

No, what you need if you do not have fun out on the dance floor is to really loosen up. How do you do that? Well, obviously if you have fun with it, it will loosen you up a bit. The infographic below shows you some sweet dance moves that can get you in the mood to party.

Not only do you have the possibility to sport a manly beard, but think about all of the fun and exciting ways you can groom and wear your facial hair. I mean the mustache alone has a ton of variations. Add in the goatee, the soul patch, and the chin strap and you could look like a new dude every day with your different style.

Yep, being a guy is pretty great. Being a guy with fantastic facial hair is even greater. If you are worried about what style of facial hair looks the best on your face shape, or if you just want to know more about the awesomeness that is manly facial hair, check out the infographic below. I am pretty sure you are going to like what you see. No, change that, you are pretty much going to love it.

A few years ago my girlfriend noticed something that I had never considered. Each time I would have my hair cut, I would not like it until it grew out after a couple of weeks. It was also too short and too choppy looking, but I just thought that was how it had to be. Finally thanks to my girlfriend’s brilliance she asked why I didn’t make it clear want I wanted? I was confused. I could tell my guy at the barber shop how to cut my hair? She laughed and said that paying $12 for a haircut at a barber shop probably wouldn’t yield the same results as going to a salon. An appointment was made at her salon with a woman who specialized in men’s cuts, I had a picture in my hand of what I wanted, and for the first time in my life I left with a haircut that I instantly loved. I did not have to grow it out for a week or so, I did not have to find a new way to style it, nothing. It was so worth the $27 I paid, and I am convinced that I will never again go to what my girl calls the “chop shop” to get a haircut ever again.

I get that some men get all they need from a barber shop. If you are in the military, like a buzzed look, or whatever, then I get it. But the thing for most men is that we all would like for our hair to look a certain way, but we have a difficult time articulating exactly what we are looking for. If you are tired of getting the same bad haircut every time, then follow these tips to make sure your hair looks its best.

Find a salon for you. The best way to do this, is by asking around. Of course, men don’t like to talk to other men about getting their haircut. Man up, and ask someone if you like their hair. Tell them that your current stylist has moved or something, just ask. I got lucky because my girl did that part for me. Maybe your mom, sister, girlfriend/wife, or co-worker can give you an idea.

Find out what cut you want. Look in movies, magazines, or online for an idea of the cut you are looking for. Once you find it, get a picture to take with you. This way there is less of a chance for a mess up.

Tip your stylist. It is always appropriate to tip your stylist. It is even more appropriate when you really like the job he or she did on your hair.

You all asked for it, so here is another “Pack It Up” article. This time it is all about packing effectively for a business trip. Now, I am the type of guy who really does not like to have to go away on business for a couple of different reasons. One of the main reasons is that I tend to be pretty careless in packing and I end up forgetting some necessary things. Sure I can go out and buy a new toothbrush or a dress shirt, but that’s not the point. I just get frustrated. The last couple of trips I have been on were much easier though because I took the time to make sure that I had everything I needed. So, if you are getting ready for a business trip, be sure that you follow these guidelines to keep your cool.

What you will need: a classic two-button suit in navy or grey, a pressed white dress shirt, nice tie, black or brown oxfords, dark-wash denim trousers, casual top (polo/sweater depending on weather), casual shoes (not exercise shoes), swimsuit or exercise shorts, t-shirt, exercise shoes, three pair of underwear and socks. Remember you watch, belt, and a carryall along with your grooming kit, electronics, chargers, and business cards.

Hints: I cannot stress this enough, make sure your shoes are in a separate bag in your suitcase. When dirt and other grime ends up on your clothes, you will regret not taking this step.

The clothes that don’t wrinkle easily need to be placed on the bottom of your suitcase, like jeans and t-shirts. Roll them for extra anti-wrinkle power.

Pack a swimsuit with you for double uses. You can take advantage of the hotel’s pool and wear the suit with your tee to the workout facilities.

Finally, keep all of your grooming products and liquids in a resealable bag that won’t allow leaks.

Walking into a woman’s bathroom is often a very terrifying experience. There’s hair in the sink, a thousand different fragrances that all seem to smell the same and products in the cabinet that you can’t even pronounce. It seems bizarre that women have the time and capability to incorporate so many products into their beauty routine, but somehow it works. We tend to avoid learning what any of it does or where it goes, but, believe it or not, some of that stuff can actually come in handy for us gentlemen without threatening our manhood.

My girlfriend has a jar of Vaseline above the sink that she uses for dry skin on her legs but can also be used to make my workout more comfortable. Before I go to the gym in the afternoon, I rub some Vaseline on my feet and the backs of my heels before I put on my socks and shoes. I started this process right after I had a case of athlete’s foot and the skin on my feet was particularly dry. After a few days I discovered that this mystery cream somehow kept my feet from smelling as bad as they normally do after I return from the gym, something my gal appreciated as well. By putting the Vaseline on my heels, my socks and shoes didn’t rub nearly as much against my skin, leaving my feet looking much less worn.

When I run out of aftershave, of course not having the forethought to buy more ahead of time, I usually reach for the facial moisturizer my girlfriend uses on her skin. It’s unscented so I don’t have to worry about smelling like lilacs for the rest of the day and it has just enough moisture to prevent my face from feeling dry and itchy after shaving. Another shaving trick I swipe from my lady is her moisturized razor blades that I put on a manly blue razor to preserve my pride. You may be thinking that those gel moisture triple blade inventions you use now are great, but the ladies are holding back their secrets. Those moisture strips make the shaving experience much more pleasant and leave my skin feeling a lot healthier than other products.

And I make be a little embarrassed about this last tip but I just can’t keep it to myself. Give yourself a manicure. My girlfriend keeps a small kit with clippers and other devices that I can’t name in our bathroom and every once in a while I’ll take a few minute to really clean up my fingers and it is completely worth it. I feel much more sanitary and I look more professional at business meetings amongst the men who aren’t embarrassed to pay for a manicure. You can learn from the women in your life and from those girly shows you see on Dish Network and other programming to put on manly touch on those feminine traditions.

Like everything else men do to keep themselves looking groomed and office ready, shaving has a history that goes back thousands of years and the aim is still the same: men want that so-called “perfect shave.” Why, then, do so many men find this so hard to achieve? The answer may be that proper shaving has become something of a lost art. Shaving is a time honored tradition that was once passed down from father to son, but in the age of modern and disposable razors, and electric razors, and hurry-scurry mornings that leave people with less time than ever to spend getting ready, people have just let that tradition fall by the wayside.

So, how did we get from there to here? What once was a properly executed means of male grooming has been reduced to cheap and often dull, disposable utensils that neither do the job they are meant to do, nor point to any reasonable hope that things will improve in the future. Just like in the case of adt security, shaving may find its most valuable link in the past. Here, for your viewing pleasure, is the history of shaving:

Unfortunately, most of us guys have to shave on a daily basis. It sucks, but every morning I stand in front of my mirror dreading the fact that it is indeed time to shave. I have tried every razor out there and all types of creams, lotions, and such too, but I would still leave behind stubble, feel a burning sensation or worse afterward. I know a lot of my friends share the same sentiment and though we do not talk about it as a big group, my friends do approach me individually about properly shaving. I have some tips and tricks, but I know some can get pretty uncomfortable talking about it with me. So, I found a video on Youtube that is sure to be a big help.

When watching, keep in mind that the oil is just one route to take. I prefer to use a gel cream with a shaving brush to get the hairs on my face to stand and to provide some exfoliation too, as I have pretty oily skin. The best thing to do is to find what works for you and your skin, and you won’t have to dread the thought of shaving any longer. If you have any tips, feel free to add them in the comments!

I think most men would agree that it isn’t really socially acceptable to discuss the latest grooming trends with other guys, partly because of the more feminine stigma of such discussions and partly because there are some guys I know that don’t do much in the grooming department. I’m not really that self-conscious about it myself, since I know I look pretty damn good. After all, I probably wouldn’t be posting this if I didn’t want anyone to know that I’m willing to take a 15 minute shower every once in a while and I use shampoo that doesn’t double as body wash. If I wanted my head to smell the same as my feet I would run out of cologne very quickly.
It was after realizing that not every man is gentleman enough to shower on a daily basis that I figured there was probably a space out there on the web where I could find some like-minded souls to relate to and get some support. Yes, I said support. I don’t care if it sounds feminine or even needy, I enjoy reading about what’s new in shaving gel and the top 10 male scents of the summer. This is how I stay fresh.

Speaking of new products and neediness, I’m seeking some advice beyond a commercial advertisement regarding the right kind of moisturizer for my skin. I’m a fairly hairy individual so shaving my neck every day can leave a lot of dry skin that is then covered by more hair by nightfall. I’ve been using the Gillette Energizing Moisture cream lately and I do believe it would work quite well for the typical chap, but I think I could use something a little thicker. I’ve discovered that if I can’t still feel the moisture on my skin after about 10 minutes, it’s no use. Since I am incredibly skeptical of the media and overworked amateur blogs, I have come to you, reader, for some sound advice. I’m looking for a solution that doesn’t necessarily have to be something found on a Walgreen’s shelf just anywhere. Exotic and slightly expensive is fine by me as long as it gets the job done. The only request I have, despite my previous rants about how I don’t care if something may seem a bit feminine because I’m such a confident man, is that it isn’t a women’s product because we all know how potent those scents can be. Gender neutral or excessively manly are the best options. I’ve seen a lot of odd products out there and I’m not opposed to any of them, that is excluding any ones that I tried and decided were awful. The world of male moisturizing is at my fingertips, and I am ready to lather it on.

This is the first of our “Pack It Up” feature where I will help you to pack your bags for all sorts of getaways and destinations. For the first one, I thought I would help you guys out with pointers on what to pack along with you for my favorite type of weekend getaway, the golf outing. There is nothing better than having the chance to play golf all weekend, but you definitely have to make sure you have all of the essentials to tee it up the whole trip.

What you will need: You will of course need three polo shirts and depending on the weather you should carry along with you a long sleeve sweater. Two pair of shorts and pants, and two casual dinner shirts. Obviously golf shoes are necessary, but remember to include some loafers or casual shoes for dinner or drinks. Don’t for get your baseball hat and extra golf gloves too.

Hints: Keep your golf shoes in a shoe bag. You can find these at any sports store or luggage store. Or you can use an old pillowcase to lug them in.

The knit shirts that you pack will save you some space and travel better if you roll them instead of folding them.

Fold your khaki pants and shorts, do not roll them.

Make sure that you bring plenty of changes of socks and underwear. Your feet are going to need quite a few sock changes, and if it’s hot, you’re definitely going to want to change up the underwear.

Collared shirts and khakis are pretty much mandatory for any respectable golf course, unless it’s a dog track. Please, leave the denim at home and make sure that all of the shirts you bring to golf in have a collar.

Check up with the course before-hand regarding golf shoes because most of them nowadays prohibit the use of metal spikes. If all you have are metal spikes, then you have a great reason to go and buy a new pair of golf shoes. Don’t pass that opportunity up.

Lastly, you’re going to be outside in the sun for at least four hours a round, so bring some sunblock to avoid crispy lobster colored skin. You’ll be glad you brought it.
